Hospice Jinja - "Do as much as we can, as well as we can, as long as can, for as many as we can."  2010 Motto and Challenge

Ten Eighteen started working with Hospice Jinja in March of 2010. The hospice is one of only 5 in the country, and most Ugandans have never heard of the concept. With a staff of 6 full timers, Hospice Jinja services a disctrict with over 8 million people, funded 95% by donations from overseas. To date we have brought medical supplies and clothing, are providing funds for the purchase of the fuel each month, and have recently begun funding a community day care twice a month. In the day care, which is done out in villages, patients are fed lunch, taught a topic of interest, and also taught a craft to help bring in money for their families. We purchased 50 beautiful paper bead necklaces to give as gifts to donors who specify the hospice in their correspondence. 100% of those donations will be given back to them!

How can you help?
* Clothing
* Medical supplies
* Funds for fuel and community day care
* Funds for the General Fund, which provides help to patients in need
* Funds for morphine and other prescription drugs
* Volunteer! Medical and non-medical volunteers are needed and most welcome. There is a guest house where you can stay in comfort and safety while you work with the great people at the hospice.
