Building a Primary School for Arise Africa, Bukaleba
This may look like a field of maize... but it's the site for the new primary school in Bukaleba! We made a special visit to the beautiful 2500 acre property in August 2010, and saw the secondary school and the guest house, and the beautiful orphanage and nursery school which has been built in part with a grant from the American Embassy. We have committed to raising $200,000 to build a primary school, which will house, educate, feed, clothe and provide medicine for 560 orphaned children from P1 through P7. It's a big goal - but God's got the money!
UPDATE, JAN 2011: The first block of classrooms is almost completed, needing only to be roofed! We are hoping to start schooling in this block in February... Can you believe it?! We still have MUCH to do, but God is so faithful. Won't you consider either giving to the building fund, or sponsoring a child's school fees? (Or both!)
Update Summer 2011: Here's the first block of classrooms, which houses P1. We still need funds for furniture and other items - can you make a year end donation to help?
Secondary school being built at Arise Africa International
Arise Africa's mission is to find the most vulnerable orphans in the district - and beyond, as they grow - and bring them to live in Bukaleba. We have partnered with them to help these children grow and thrive - won't you help?
